Please review the following information with your child.
HOW DO I DO THE SELF-ASSESSMENT WITH MY CHILD?
- Every morning, screen your child/ren before they come to school
- If they are not feeling well, please keep them home
WHAT TIME DOES SCHOOL START?
- This year school will start at 8:45 AM, warning bell will be at 8:40 AM
- We will have a 'Soft Start' beginning at 8:25 to 8:45, which includes students completing morning routines, having breakfast and mindful activities.
WHAT ARE THE ARRIVAL PROCEDURES?
- All students are welcome at 8:25, please do not send your child prior to this time as there is no supervision
- Students should put personal items away, enter classroom, wash hands with soap/water and proceed with their soft start
- For safety reasons, please do not drop off students on Crowe Avenue, or the staff parking lot
Kiss and Ride will open between 8:25 AM and 8:40 AM
- Please remain in the car unless your child needs assistance getting out
- Staff will greet and open the door, if students need to be unbuckled, a parent will have to get out and assist with the seat belt
Busses arrive between 8:25 AM and 8:40 AM
- Students will be met by supervisor who will walk students into the school
- Students will go directly to their classrooms
Walkers are welcome to arrive between 8:30 to 8:40 AM
- Students go directly to their classroom where they will be met by staff
*Revisions to times and procedures will be made if necessary
IS THERE A MORNING RECESS?
There is NO morning recess or supervision this year. Supervisors will be assigned to meet busses and bring students into the school., everyone is welcome at 8:25AM
WHAT DO I DO IF MY CHILD IS LATE OR NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP EARLY?
If your child is going to be late or picked up early, please com into the main office to sign in/out
CAN PARENTS COME INTO THE SCHOOL?
Parents are welcome to come into the school. Please self-screen prior to entering the building, and if you are sick we ask that you not enter the school.
WHAT DOES THE DAY LOOK LIKE?
Block 1 - 8:45 to 10:25 (100 min)
Break - 10:25 to 11:15 (30 OUT/20 IN = 50 min)
Block 2 - 11:15 to 12:55 (100 min)
Break - 12:55 to 1:45 (30 OUT/20 IN = 50 min)
Block 3 - 1:45 to 3:25 (100 min)
WHAT DO NUTRITION BREAKS LOOK LIKE?
- Students will have 30 minutes outside and 20 minutes inside to eat
- All classrooms are divided into Kindergarten, Primary & Junior
- When preparing to go outside students will wash hands before leaving the classroom, get dressed, and maintain distance as they are dismissed
- Students will go to their designated area on the playground each break
- When preparing to come in for lunch, students are asked to line up and come in single file with the supervisor
- Students will change their shoes, wash hands as they re-enter classrooms, eat, and then prepare for learning
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING TO SCHOOL?
- Indoor shoes and lunch, masks are optional at this time
- Students will be given a water bottle and all the school supplies they will need
- We encourage families to purchase ear buds/head phones but will provide if necessary
HOW DO STUDENTS SAFELY REMOVE MASKS?
- Untie the strings behind the head or stretch the ear loops
- Handle only by the ear loops or ties, fold outside corners together
- Wash hands with soap and water
- Place in a bag until you need to remask (not on a lanyard for safety reasons)
- Machine washable masks, should be washed daily
WHAT ARE THE DISMISSAL PROCEDURES?
All grades will be dismissed at 3:25pm.
Kiss and Ride will be open from 3:25 PM to 3:40 PM
- Please remain in the car unless your child needs assistance
- Staff will greet and open the door, if students need to be buckled, a parent will have to get out and assist with the seat belt
Busses depart from 3:30 to 3:45 PM
- Students will go to the atrium, meet a staff member and proceed to the bus loading zone
Student Pick-Up/Walkers will be dismissed at 3:25, using atrium doors
- Walkers need to go home and check in with their families

Morning Entrance
Bussed Kindergarten Students - North Doors (4th Street)
Kindergarten/Primary (Grades 1 to 3) - West Doors (Kiss and Ride)
Junior (Grades 4 to 6) - South Doors (Main Entrance)
Afternoon Exit
Bussed Students - South Doors (Main Entrance)
Walkers - South Doors (Stairwell Entrance)
Kiss and Ride - West Doors
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Morning message will remind students to spread kindness not germs
- Reading Recovery and Speech services will be provided with extra safety measures in place
